Alleged communist arrested for murder, malicious mischief in Pasig

Authorities arrested an alleged member of a communist group for murder and malicious mischief in Pasig City last Thursday.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Debold Sinas said operatives from NCRPO and Eastern Police District served a warrant of arrest against Esteban Sergio Sales, 59, at Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City around 1:38 pm.
Sinas said Sales is a member of the executive committee of the Kilusang Larangang Guerilla (KLG 73), Bicol Region Party Committee (BRPC), member of Komite Seksiyon sa Platon (KSPN 1), Komite on Seksiyon sa Iskwad (KSSI 1).
He said the operation stemmed through surveillance and lateral coordination that resulted in the positive identification of Sales.
“He (Sales) is a national most wanted person with reward covered by DND-DILG (Department of National Defense- Department of Interior and Local Government) joint orders amounting to P700,000,” the NCRPO chief said
Sales is allegedly involved in the death of a rebel returnee in municipality of Ragay, Camarines Sur.
He is now temporarily detained at NCRPO Custodial Facility pending return of the warrant of arrest to the issuing court. Ella Dionisio/DMS
