Alleged NPA killed in clash with soldiers in Bukidnon

An alleged member of New People's Army (NPA) was killed while another one was captured following a clash with government troops in Bukidnon on Tuesday morning.
1st Lt. Jefferson Mariano, civil military operation officer of the 58th Infantry Division, said government troops were checking the presence of rebels when the encounter occurred at the hinterlands of Brgy Silo-o, Malitbog around 6 am.
Mariano said a soldier was wounded along with another alleged NPA member.
"The killed NPA is identified as Leonido Pacheco alias Macdong, member of Special Partisan Unit (SPARU) of the Sub-Regional Committee 1 (SRC1)," he said.
The wounded NPA, found by troops during clearing operation, was identified as Aman Bilayong alias Neri, a member of Platoon Ryan, Motorola, SRC1, Northern Central Mindanao Region Command, said Mariano.
Mariano said soldiers also seized two M16 rifles, one KG-9, magazines, ammunition and subversive documents from the encounter site.
"The wounded soldier and NPA were immediately provided with first aid and were later brought to the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital for further treatment," he said. Robina Asido/DMS
