Alleged NPA member killed in encounter with military in Compostela Valley

An alleged member of New People’s Army (NPA) was killed in a 15-minute firefight with government troops in Compostela Valley province on Tuesday.
Capt. Jerry Lamosao, spokesman of the 10th Infantry Division, said based on initial report the encounter between the troops of 66thInfantry Battalion and around five rebels happened in the vicinity of Sitio Sudlon, Brgy Tagugpo, Pantukan, Compostela Valley around 5 am.
Lamosao said the alleged NPA member was identified as alias Jopaks while no casualty was recorded on the troops.
“The cadaver of alias Jopaks was turned over to Yolly Alcosiro, barangay captain of Tagugpo, Pantukan,” he said.
Lamosao said after the clash the troops also recovered one cal.45 pistol , one magazine, a cal.45 loaded with three rounds of ammunition.
