An alleged supply officer of the New People's Army (NPA) was killed in a law enforcement operation in Davao City Monday afternoon.
Captain Rhyan Batchar, spokesman of the 10th Infantry Division, said he was killed after he engaged police and military personnel who were serving a warrant for his arrest.
The fatality was identified as Glenn Ramos alias Berdan, 40, who is facing charges for attempted homicide before the 11th Judicial Region, Branch 6.
"Ramos refused to submit himself and drew a weapon that led to a brief firefight," he said.
"He sustained two gunshot wounds in the body and was brought to SPMC where he was later declared dead-on- arrival by the attending physician," he added.
Batchar said recovered from Ramos is a caliber 38 pistol with five live ammunitions and a fired cartridge, one fragmentation grenade, one piece of an improvised explosive device mounted with electrical wire and live 7.62mm ammunitions. Robina Asido/DMS
