Almost 1K passengers stranded in various ports due to “Ompong”

Nearly 1,000 passengers were stranded in different ports in Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions due to Typhoon "Ompong," the Philippine Coast Guard said Thursday.
“In Bicol, 581 passengers are stranded covering ports of San Pascual with 30, Pasacao 18, Tabaco 116, Bulan 45, Pilar 74 and Matnog 298,” said Capt. Armando Balilo, PCG spokesman, citing a report as of 10:48am.
In Eastern Vizayas, he said 259 passengers have remained in various ports as ships were not allowed to sail.
Balilo said a total of 78 rolling cargoes, three vessels, and three motorboats were stranded in Bicol and Eastern Visayas. Robina Asido/DMS
