Año expects distribution of cash aid to finish this week

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año on Monday night said they expect the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) funds to be finished by this week.
During the IATF meeting, Año told President Rodrigo Duterte that they started the distribution of the second tranche of SAP last June 11.
He said first to receive the financial aid were the 1, 335, 711 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) beneficiaries.
“Last June 15, we started to distribute the second tranche in the Cordillera Administrative Region including Region I (Ilocos Region) and we also started in Region III (Central Luzon),” he said.
“Today, June 22, we started to go full blast in all regions including the National Capital Region also those who did not receive their first tranche,” he added.
According to the secretary, only 4.2 million Filipinos were validated to receive the additional SAP cash aid.
“As of June 19, DSWD already distributed P6.7 billion and we expect to finish everything within this week,” said Año.
Of the P100 billion budget released by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), P18, 294, 004, 900 were released to 4Ps beneficiaries while P80, 612, 681, 950 were disbursed by LGUs.
