Another police officer succumbs to COVID-19

Another police officer has succumbed to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) bringing their total to 16, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Sunday.
The PNP said the 52- year old cop who was assigned at the National Administrative Support Unit (NASU) died last August 17.
As to the latest COVID-19 cases, PNP has recorded 104 new cases , bringing their total to 3,380 with 2, 479 recoveries.
Highest number of new cases were still recorded at the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) with 70 followed by National Operational Support Unit (NOSU) with 10, Central Luzon with nine, Calabarzon with five, Central Visayas and Cagayan Valley with three; andEastern Visayas and Bicol Region have one case each.
One was also recorded at the national headquarters in Camp Crame and one from NASU.
A total of 3, 399 police officers are being monitored after they showed symptoms of the virus and had contact with people positive for COVID-19. Ella Dionisio/DMS
