Army providing accommodation to locally stranded individuals

The Philippine Army is providing accommodation for locally stranded individuals who were at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Col. Ramon Zagala, Philippine Army spokesma, said a total of 214 locally stranded individuals are staying at the Philippine Army Wellness Center (PAWC) in Fort Bonifacio.
Zagala said to ensure the comfort and safety of the stranded passengers during their stay at the PAWC, the commanding general Philippine Army checks on their well-being and inspects the facilities on Monday.
"Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay personally attended to the 214 locally-stranded individuals currently sheltered by the Army while waiting for available flights," he said.
Gapay said the Philippine Army also assist on the coordination with their respective airlines for flight bookings.
“While we continue to provide shelter and basic necessities for them here at the Army Gymnasium, those who would want to extend further aid are highly encouraged," Gapay said.
"We will also help in terms of coordinating with their respective airlines. Our main priority is to keep them COVID-19 free so they can return to their families healthy,” he added.
Zagala said as of Monday, twenty-two passengers were transported to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for their confirmed flights back to their respective provinces.
"The flight for 129 of the remaining passengers to Davao, General Santos, Cotabato, Cagayan de Oro, and Bacolod is being processed by Cebu Pacific Air," he said. Robina Asido/DMS
