Arroyo says people should “believe” reported ouster vs Duterte
September 26, 2018
Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said an alleged "Red October" plot to oust President Rodrigo Duterte from power is not fiction.
“If the President believes that there is a threat, he is working from good information. So, we should believe whatever [he is saying],” Arroyo told reporters in an ambush interview Wednesday.
“Again, going from my experience as President, the President really has access to information that not all of us have access to,” said Arroyo who faced ouster attempts during her nine-year presidency.
Earlier, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) tagged the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and opposition groups Liberal Party (LP) and the Tindig Pilipinas coalition allegedly behind Red October.
But Arroyo said " no reaction" when asked by reporters about the arrest of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, a former Navy officer who led two failed attempts against her. DMS
