At least 11 soldiers killed raising military casualties to 82

MARAWI CITY -- At least 11 soldiers were killed as fighting rages on in this city, bringing the military’s death toll to 82, a spokesman said Friday. Brigadier General Restituto Padilla, spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, said since May 23, 82 soldiers , 303 Maute-Abu Sayyaf gunmen, and 44 civilians have died. Padilla said around 1,713 civilians trapped inside the battle zone were rescued. Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera, Joint Task Force Marawi spokesman, said there are still pockets of resistance by the gunmen in four remaining barangays. DMS
