Australian nun’s deportation order upheld by BI: Guevarra
August 29, 2018
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has upheld its deportation order against Australian missionary Patricia Fox, according to Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Wednesday.
Guevarra said the BI board of commissioners last week dismissed the motion for reconsideration filed by Fox and stood firm on its deportation order issued last month.
"Fox's MR was denied by the BI," Guevarra said in a text message.
But Fox may not be deported because the BI order "can still be subject to appeal to the DOJ or the Office of the President."
"Any adverse ruling of the DOJ or OP may further be reviewed by the courts," Guevarra said. DMS
