Authorities confiscate P68 million worth of illegal drugs in Lipa

Authorities confiscated around P68 million worth of illegal drugs in Lipa City, Batangas on Monday.
A report from the Batangas Provincial Police Office said joint operation of Philippine National Police ( PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was conducted around 1pm to implement search warrant against suspect identified as Eugene Fernandez for possession of illegal firearms.
Upon arrival to his residence at Barangay San Francisco, authorities found ten transparent heat sealed plastic bag of suspected shabu packed and sealed inside a green plastic tea bag with a Chinese label weighing around 10 kilos with estimated street value of P68,000,000.
Also confiscated were cal. 45 pistol, dried marijuana, two marijuana plants and a digital weighing scale.
Fernandez will face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms. Ella Dionisio/DMS
