Baguio General Hospital temporarily shuts doors to new COVID-19 patients

BAGUIO CITY- A surge of new cases of COVID-19 in Baguio City, forced the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center to temporarily shut its doors from new patients.
The state-run hospital said "...(it) has made crucial decision to make necessary steps to break the unceasingly transmission of this virus.”
This came after nine health workers, including three doctors, were added to the number of COVID-19 patients.
As of Monday, Baguio has 29 positive cases where 16 are under treatment, 12 recovered and one death.
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong ordered health workers who are potentially exposed to confirmed COVID-19 patients in all hospitals in the city tested.
Baguio City has started Monday an expanded risk-based testing targeting 200 qualified patients a day.
Health workers are priority groups in the testing program, said City Health Officer Rowena Galpo. DMS
