Baguio gets two new COVID-19 cases as it moves to MGCQ

BAGUIO CITY– Two new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Baguio City as it shifted into modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) Monday.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong said one of the patients is a 28-year old female from City Camp Central who went San Fernando, La Union last May 26. She was asymptomatic but had suspicious pneumonia based on her chest x-ray examination.
A 25-year old male from sitio Apugan, barangay Poliwes, along Kennon Road was asymptomatic and had no history of travel or exposure to the coronavirus disease.
The male patient, a “person deprived of liberty”(PDL) was brought to the Baguio City Jail male dormitory (BCJ-MD) on May 29.This prompted authorities to conduct contact tracing on all those who visited the jail’s male dorm from May 29-31.
Baguio now has four active cases as of Monday.
Barangay Poliwes was earlier placed on lockdown starting Saturday after authorities found out it has not been following quarantine rules, while City Camp Central is expected to be on lockdown anytime Monday.
Baguio only recorded 34 COVID-19 cases, with one death. DMS
