BIFF member killed in clash with MILF in Maguindanao: AFP

A six-hour firefight between troops of Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (BIAF-MILF) and the group of Zainudin Kiaro of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) took place at sitio Makalag, Brgy Pimbalakan, Mamasapano, Maguindanao on Thursday

The firefight began around 5 am until 11 am  while the troops of MILF were conducting security operations in the area, the military said in a statement Friday.

The  BIFF members withdrew towards Brgy Inidalan, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao using a motorized pump boat while  others went by foot.

One  BIFF member, identified as a certain Saudi Sabang, was killed while no one was hurt in the MILF side.

The MILF leadership is determined to  eradicate the peace spoilers and to defeat the threat group from doing terroristic  activities in Central Mindanao, said Major General Cirilito Sobejana, commander, of the Joint Task Force Central. DMS
