BJMP records 870 COVID-19 cases

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) has recorded more than 800 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in country's jail facilities.
Jail Chief Insp. Xavier Solda, BJMP spokesman, said based on their latest data a total of 870 confirmed cases were recorded.
Solda said 125 are BJMP personnel and 745 are persons deprived of liberty (PDL).
BJMP records also show 65 personnel and 388 PDL recovered from COVID-19.
Among the confirmed cases, 381 were active cases of which 60 are BJMP personnel and 321 are PDL.
