The cadaver of one of the alleged Abu Sayyaf Group members who was killed in an encounter with police operatives last November 25 was found floating in the waters of Barangay Taluksangay in Zamboanga City last Saturday.
Zamboanga region police said the body of Hassan Alimin, 35, was found floating by the fishermen around 11:20am and was immediately reported to the barangay.
Police said the cadaver has a gunshot wound on the head and is under the state of decomposition.
Initial report said the suspect was allegedly the financial facilitator of the ASG operating in Basilan and Sulu that was planning to conduct bombing in Zamboanga City.
Alimin is one of the three ASG members who was killed after operatives caught them onboard a pump boat in the high seas of Brgy. Talsangay and Sacol Island.
The two other ASG members died in the boat while he jumped in the water during the encounter.
According to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Debold Sinas, the three suspects were believed to be in a bombing mission. Ella Dionisio/DMS
