Body recovered identified as Filipino as Japan Coast Guard resumes search for survivors

The body recovered by the Japanese Coast Guard last week was identified as Filipino, the Department of Foreign Affairs said late Monday as no survivors were found during Monday's aerial search.
Japanese Coast Guard are searching for 40 crew members, including 36 Filipinos of Panamanian-registered Gulf Livestock 1 which sunk off Japan in Sept 2.The DFA said an empty life raft on a sandy beach was found but no clue of any missing crew member.
"An empty life raft on a sandy beach was found but there was no clue of any missing crew member," the Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.The Japanese Coast Guard, the DFA said, will resume the full sea and aerial search on Tuesday.
Two Filipino crewmen have been rescued, while the body was recovered on Sept. 4.
"The deceased was confirmed to be of Filipino nationality The family of the deceased has cooperated in identifying the remains," the DFA said.Philippine officials in Japan are monitoring the situation and will be providing aid to the victims and their families," it added.
En route to Port of Jingtang in Tangshan, Gulf Livestock 1, carrying 43 crewmen, made a distress call on Sept. 2 from Amami Oshima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture before it sank in the midst of a typhoon. DMS
