Brother of Duterte son-in-law gets gov’t post

Waldo Reyes Carpio, brother of President Rodrigo Duterte's son-in-law, was among the list of presidential appointees released by the Palace on Wednesday.
Carpio was appointed assistant secretary of the Department of Agriculture, replacing Federico Laciste Jr., a former police chief superintendent.
Other appointments were former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., as special envoy of the president for intercultural dialogue and the APEC, Rodolfo Garcia, a former Army lieutanant general, as undersecretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Reiner-Paul Yebra as undersecretary of the Department of Transportation, Alilo Ensomo Jr, as director of the Mines and Geoscience Bureau, Joselito Alisuag , Director IV of the Commission on Higher Education, Dioscoro Esteban Jr as member of the Philippine Reclamation Authority, Farah Casin Lumbatan as member, board of directors, PNOC Exploration Corp; Aquilino Trinidad, board of directors, CIIF, Granexport, Cagayan de Oro Oil Co., and Iligan Coconut Industries Inc.; Dante Guevara, board of directors, PNOC Renewables Corp., Damian Gomez, member, Sangguniang Panglungsod of Lapu-Lapu City and James Infiesto, member of the National Council on Disability Affairs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
