Businessman, professor killed in Dagupan City

Gunmen shot and killed a businessman and a professor after they left a restaurant Thursday night in Dagupan City, police said Friday.
Superintendent Jandale Sulit, Dagupan chief of police, said killed were Johnny Baniqued, 47, businessman, former barangay kagawad; Oscar Fernandez, professor at University of Luzon and Peter Zabala, 44, residents of Rivera St., Brgy IV, Dagupan City.
Based on investigation, after the three had dinner at De Luxe Restaurant, Tapuac District, Dagupan City, the victims were boarding their Mitsubishi Montero with plate number NJ 4307 when they were shot by unidentified men.
Baniqued and Fernandez, who were shot several times, were rushed to the Nazareth General Hospital but both were pronounced dead on arrival. Ramos who sustained four gunshot wounds on his back was rushed to Trauma Hospital.
Recovered by crime scene operatives were 16 pieces of fired cartridges of cal.45, five deformed fired bullets, one live ammo cal.45 and two fragmented fired bullets.
The bodies of the victims were turned over to Nazareth General Hospital subject for autopsy . DMS
