After Legaspi alighted from the cab, he found out his money placed in a long white envelope had missing. He immediately took a cab back to NAIA 1.
The driver, Gilbert Punzalan of Golden Star Transport, an accredited transport company in NAIA, said he noticed a white envelope beside the handbrake of his vehicle. Thinking it was trash, he was about to throw it out of his car window when he felt something was inside it.
Punzalan said he saw 30 pieces of $100 bills inside and looked for any identification of the owner. He discovered the name of the owner was the same as the passenger in his dispatch slip.
