Cardinal Ricardo Vidal dies at 86

Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Cardinal Ricardo Vidal, the leader of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines during the 1986 People Power Revolution that ousted President Ferdinand Marcos, died at the age 86 on Wednesday in Cebu says after suffering a cardiac arrest.
According to Archdiocese of Cebu Spokesman Msgr. Joseph Tan, Vidal passed away at 7:26 am.
"He passed away at 7:26 am at 86 years old due to infection leading to septic shock," said Tan.
He said Vidal's wake will be at the Cebu Cathedral in Cebu City.
The remaining Filipino cardinals are Manila Archbishop Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Manila Archbishop Emeritus Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales, and Cotabato Archbishop Cardinal Orlando Quevedo.
Quevedo paid tribute to Vidal, who had the "courage in presenting and defending the CBCP position leading to the 1986 People Power; and charity for those considered as "enemies". DMS
