Caritas Manila appeals for aid for flood-hit Mindanao

Caritas Manila on Thursday appealed for aid in cash and in kind for the thousands in Mindanao who were affected by rains from a low pressure area and the tailend of a cols front.
In a statement, Caritas Manila said they need more donations as affected communities, particularly in the Archdiocese of Cagayan De Oro and Diocese of Butuan, as they recover.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council said at least 10 have died while 679, 412 persons were affected. Damage were estimated at P402.3 million, of which the Caraga area accounted to P90 million
“We appeal for prayers for Divine protection and to help alleviate the sufferings through our donations in cash and in kind for the relief and rehabilitation needs of our kababayans in the affected areas,” said Caritas Manila.
Specifically, the social action arm of the Archdiocese of Manila said the Diocese of Butuan is appealing for food, medicines, and potable water.
Caritas Manila said the Archdiocese of Cagayan De Oro is asking for help with their housing project as residents require relocation as they were living in “danger zones”.
