September 2, 2020
Malacañang said on Tuesday that Police Lt. Gen. Camilo Cascolan will be the next Philippine National Police chief.
Cascolan will replace Gen. Archie Gamboa who is set to retire on Wednesday, September 2, when he reaches 56 years old, the mandatory retirement age for men in uniform.
"We are confident that the incoming Chief of the PNP would continue the significant strides made by his predecessors in making the PNP a professional organization worthy of our people's trust," Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.
Cascolan will only have about two months to assume the chief PNP post as he will retire in November.
He was a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1986. Celerina Monte/DMS
