Cavite police arrested almost 1,000 violators of the province’s imposed community quarantine during their overnight anti-criminality drive last Saturday.
Police Colonel Marlon Santos, Cavite police provincial director, said of the total 973 apprehended individuals, 257 were curfew violators; 11 for liquor ban; six for resisting arrest and disobedience to authority; 24 for violation of mandatory reporting of notifiable diseases; and 675 for not having quarantine pass.
Also arrested were 20 suspects for illegal drugs, illegal possession of firearms, illegal gambling, and theft.
Santos said all apprehended persons are now under the custody of the police stations where they were arrested while criminal complaints will be filed against them.
Confiscated evidences will be turned over to Cavite police crime laboratory for examination.
“Cavite Police is continuously strengthening its relentless and collective efforts in its fight against all forms of criminalities,” he said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
