Cavite suspends until further notice SM City in Trece Martires
July 24, 2020
Cavite Governor Juanito Victor Remulla on Friday suspended until further notice the operations of SM City in Trece Martires for violating quarantine guidelines.
Remulla issued the order after cops working under cover in an inspection last Tuesday found out mall management has been ignoring the provincial government's quarantine pass policy
Customers without quarantine passes from their barangays were allowed to enter the shopping mall.
"This is why I issued an executive order suspending the operations of SM City until further notice,'' said Remulla in a statement on Facebook.
Remulla said the policy is necessary to limit people in places where the possibility of transmission of the virus is high.
From 200 COVID-19 cases, the number has ballooned to over 2,000 cases in the past two months after the province eased to the general community quarantine. DMS
