Coast Guard, military rescue fisherman in Palawan

The Philippine Coast Guard and the military's Western Command rescued on Monday a fisherman who went missing in the West Philippine Sea, officials reported on Tuesday.
The fisherman, identified as Feddy Apat, 29, of Balayan, Batangas, was reported missing since September 12 when he did not return to his mother boat FB Michele after boarding his small boat to fish in vicinity of Rizal Reef.
Based on a report from Western Command, the captain of FB Michelle requested for assistance to conduct search and rescue operations in the area.
Thru the help of a fisherman, authorities rescued Apat, some 34 nautical miles from Cape Melville of Balabac, Palawan.
The vessel that rescued Apat is enroute to Puerto Princesa City where it is expected to arrive 6 pm Tuesday. DMS
