Coast Guard ship transport 69 locally stranded individuals to General Santos City

The crew of BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) have transported 69 locally stranded individuals to General Santos City on Wednesday.
Commodore Armando Balilo, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) spokesman, said the OPV-8301 arrived at Makar Wharf, Berth 9 in General Santos City around 2:06 pm.
Balilo said the locally stranded individuals "which include two children, are warmly welcomed by PCG personnel who supervise the inspection of their pertinent documents and mandatory medical screening."
"They will be turned over to their respective local government units for further assistance," he said.
After transporting the 69 locally stranded individuals in General Santos City, the BRP Gabriela Silang is expected to proceed to Davao City to transport the remaining 79 LSIs onboard the vessel.
According to PCG, OPV-8301 is expected to arrive in Davao City on Thursday morning.
It can be recalled that BRP Gabriela Silang with 148 locally stranded individuals onboard left Port Area in Manila last Monday.
