Commission on Appointments confirm three new Cabinet members
May 30, 2018
The bicameral Commission on Appointments on Wednesday confirmed the ad interim appointments of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Justice Secretary Medardo Guevarra and Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones.
Puyat replaced her predecessor Wanda Tulfo Teo who resigned after the Commission on Audit revealed a P60 million advertising placement by the tourism department to a program produced by Teo's brother on government television.
Guevarra took over after Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II resigned in April following a move by state prosecutors to dismiss charges against alleged drug lords Kerwin Espinosa and Peter Lim.
Castriciones assumed the post after Rafael Mariano's appointment was rejected by the commission. DMS
