Construction icon David Consunji dies at 95

David Consunji, who built DMCI Holdings from a construction firm into one of the Philippines' biggest conglomerates, died at the age of 95 on Monday.
A disclosure by DMCI Holdings Inc. to the Philippine Stock Exchange did not detail the cause of death of Consunji, who served as public works secretary for a time in the cabinet of President Ferdinand Marcos.
"Recognized locally as the father of contemporary construction industry, DM ( David Consunji) built landmarks and redefined cityscapes for generations of Filipinos. He valued not the quick profit but the satisfaction of doing one’s work well, honestly and proudly, the company's disclosure said. DMS
"The Board of Directors, Management and employees of the DMCI group of companies deeply mourn his passing," the company said. DMS
