Cop monitored for COVID-19 dies; PNP virus cases now 3

A policeman who is a person under monitoring for the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) died of a heart attack even as one more cop tested positive for the virus, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Saturday.
The PNP Health Service said the deceased had a history of exposure to a COVID-positive person and was on self-quarantine for one week.
The Department of Health has recommended cremation within 12 hours.
A 35 year old male from Pasay City, was tested positive for COVID-19 bringing the total number of police personnel infected to three as of Saturday, said the PNP Health Service, citing official test results released by the RITM.
Earlier, two COVID-19 cases of PNP personnel were confirmed in Manila and Laguna.
In addition, the latest updated data of COVID-19 cases in the PNP disclosed 97 personnel (21 police commissioned officers, 72 policenon-commissioned officers ) were considered as persons under investigation and 1,228 more police personnel (246 PCO, 927 PNCO) listed as persons under monitoring.
All these police personnel have been ordered to go on self-quarantine for observation subject to possible testing as may be determined by parameters set by DOH. DMS
