Cop nabbed for alleged extortion in Cavite

Authorities arrested a police officer for alleged extortion in Cavite last Saturday.
Initial report said that at around 7:45 p.m., personnel from Counter Intelligence Task Force arrested PO2 Robin T. Robiso inside his house in Damariñas.
Robiso is assigned under Drug Enforcement Unit in Candelaria Municipal Police Station, Quezon province.
CITF Commander Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr. said he was arrested after receiving the marked money amounting to P10,000.00 from the complainant.
The operation stemmed from the complaint the police received against Robiso who allegedly threatened the said complainant and demanded P25,000.00 in order not to be arrested and be free from any criminal liability.
Robiso accused the complainant of being an accomplice in selling the firearm issued to him but was stolen seven months ago.
Authorities has obtained a video footage of the alleged extortion activity by the suspect policeman.
Robiso will face appropriate criminal and administrative charges. Ella Dionisio/DMS
