Cop wounded in Kipadawan City blast

A policeman was wounded in an explosion incident in Kidapawan City on Friday morning. Supt. Joyce Birrey, spokesperson of the North Cotabato Provincial Police, said the victim was on a patrol car to police provincial office when a landmine exploded in the vicinity of Brgy. Sikitan, Kidapawan City around 9:15 am. He said the victim was with three other non-commissioned police officer and non-uniformed personnel. “The patrol car of Arakan municipal police station was en route to police provincial office, to transport the non-uniform personnel, but when they reached the bridge in Brgy. Sikitan te explosion occurred,” he said. Birrey identified the wounded policeman as PO1 Ronald Espanola, who sustained splinter wounds on his feet and at the side of his head. (Robina Asido/DMS)
