November 23, 2020
Cops who are facing administrative cases and suspended will not receive their 2020 yearend bonus, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Monday.
PNP spokesman Brig. General Ildebrandi Usana told a press briefing the Finance Service rolled out P7,988,196,040.32 to pay for the 2020 yearend bonuses and cash gifts of 215,571 qualified personnel.
Usana said the bonus is credited to their individual ATM payroll account.
“However, payment of bonus is deferred for personnel with administrative cases, especially those serving suspension,” he said.
Since 2016, a total of 15, 768 errant cops were penalized under the PNP Internal Cleansing Program.
Of the total number of personnel found guilty of administrative offenses, 4,591 were summarily dismissed from the service for serious infractions, while 7,888 were given suspension terms and 846 cops were demoted in rank. Ella Dionisio/DMS
