Coral Bay Nickel Corp. sponsored free cleft palate surgery in Palawan

Coral Bay Nickel Corp. (CBNC) sponsored free surgical services thru Operation Smile Philippines to some 70 cleft lip/palate patients in Palawan on July 1 to 7 at Aborlan Medicare Hospital.
Based on record, there were 105 patients screened, but only 73 were qualified for surgery.
Coral Bay is a joint venture between Sumitomo Metal Mining, Mitsui and Co., and Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corp. and Solitz Corp.
A 16-year-old, Siti Nurbaya, travelled from Cagayan de Tawi-tawi to Palawan to undergo the operations, thanked people behind the project.
CBNC community relations supervisor Laurence Amores said thru the project they wanted to tell people a mineral company is a serious partner of government in giving health care.
Operation Smile (OpSmile) executive director Angel Mojica said that they are vowed to make Palawan cleft-free.

The project is in partnership with Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation, Operation Smile, provincial government of Palawan and local government of Aborlan. DMS
