Councilor killed in Quezon Province

A municipal councilor was killed in a shooting incident in Quezon province on Thursday morning.

Chief Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, Calabarzon regional police director said the victim was Aristeo Manalo Ilao, 55, councilor of Sariaya municipality.

Eleazar said based on initial report the victim was inside his house at the vicinity of Sitio Manalo, Brgy. Sampaloc 2, in Sariaya when two unidentified suspects arrived and repeatedly shot the victim.

“The victim sustained gunshot wound on his head that resulted to his instantaneous death,” he said.

The suspects fled on board a motorcycle going to the Maharlika Highway.

Eleazar said the personnel of Sariaya municipal police station are conducting follow up operation against the suspects. Robina Asido/DMS
