Councilor, wife killed in shooting incident

A municipal councilor and his wife were killed in a shooting incident in the province of Rizal on Monday morning, police said. Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesman of the Calabarzon regional police, identified the victims as John San Jose, municipal councilor of Teresa town and his wife Maritess. Gaoiran said based on initial report the victims were onboard a Mitsubishi Montero Sport vehicle when they were shot by three unidentified male suspect on board a red motorcycle at the vicinity of Sitio Uno Tulay, Brgy. Dalig, Teresa around 6:30 am. He said the suspects fled towards Sitio Abuyod, Brgy. Dalig, Teresa. Gaoiran said the victims died while being treated at Saint Therese Hospital. (Robina Asido/DMS)
