Court allowed Parojinog daughter’s medical furlough in 2018

The Philippine National Police (PNP) found that Nova Princess Parojinog, daughter of slain drug lord Reynaldo Sr.,  was given permission by the court to leave Camp Crame last November 2018.

According to PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, the PNP Custodial Center submitted their explanation on the circumstances surrounding Parojinog’s medical furlough.

“After thorough examination of documents and official reports, it became clear that the medical furlough of detainee Parojinog on November 12, 2018 had the express permission of the Court,” Banac said in a statement on Tuesday night.

“Upon order of Hon. Edgardo B Bellosillo, Presiding Judge of  RTC Branch 95 of Quezon City, detainee Parojinog was escorted from the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame at 8:50 am on November 12, 2018 to the clinic of Dr. Louisse Orasa at Room 801 of Medical City Hospital in Pasig City to undergo panoramic dental x-ray at her own expense and under guard by custodial security escorts,” he added.

Banac said the convoy arrived at the medical facility at exactly 9:40 am and the x-ray was performed by a certain Zyrel Pingel after which she was immediately returned to the PNP Custodial Center at 10 am.

“As a matter of procedure, the Chief of the Custodial Service Unit rendered a written report to RTC Br 95 on November 13, 2018 detailing compliance to the Order of the Court,” Banac said.

Banac said it was the same court which granted the motion for furlough filed by Parojinog to visit her detained brother, Reynaldo Parojinog Jr. at the Metro Manila District Jail Annex 5 in Bicutan, Taguig City last December 23, 2019.

“The PNP high command is satisfied with the explanation of the PNP Custodial Center officials,” he said.

On January 6, the QC RTC Branch 228 Judge Mitushealla Manzanero-Casiño gave the PNP Custodial Center jail warden and the lawyers five days to explain why Parojinog leave their premises last November 12, 2018 when no motion seeking permission from the court was filed. Ella Dionisio/DMS
