COVID-19 cases reach 22,474: DOH

Almost 600 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were reported by the Department of Health (DOH) Monday.
The DOH said a total of 579 new COVID-19 cases were reported, bringing the total to 22,474 cases.
Of the newly-reported cases, a total of 331 are considered as "fresh cases", making the third straight day more than 300 of these cases are reported. ''Fresh cases'' were those test results given to patients after three days.
The DOH said 248 were "late cases",which are test results released to patients after more than four days.
Central Visayas topped the region with fresh cases as 156 cases were reported followed by NCR with 114.
Eight deaths were recorded,bringing the total to 1,011.
The DOH said 107 patients survived COVID-19, which places total recoveries at 4,637. DMS
