Customs to auction P13.57-M worth of confiscated items

The Bureau of Customs-Port of Manila (POM) is set to auction next week various confiscated smuggled items.

In a statement, POM Auction and Cargo Disposal Division said that the government expects more than P13.57 million revenue from the bid out of the items on September 17 and 21.

On September 17, 23 40-footer containers of insulation flat panel with a total floor price of P5,361,852.16 are up for bidders. One unit brand new XGMA payloader and one unit brand new XGMA forklift pegged at P1,346,940.00 will also be sold to qualified bidders. Also up for bidding are six 40 footer containers of plywood with a floor price of P1,205,256.89.

Other goods include 1x40 container containing approximately 900 packages of Westinghouse rice cooker valued at P284,394.50, and three brand new units of steel cabin for construction equipment with a floor price of P186,760.00.

On September 21, POM will bid seven lots of various goods including the P2,520,000.00 worth of two units used international 10-wheeler tractor heads, and P1,253,476.34 worth of one unit used excavator.

Other merchandise to be auctioned includes P421,694.00 worth of various assorted items such as Shure Wireless System, card reader, notebook keyboard, cellphone screen guard, coin purse, power inverter, solar module, assorted bags, microphone jack, CCTV, and capacitors, among others.

POM will also bid out 1x40 container of machine glazed paper with a floor price of P431,412.67; 1x40 container of empty glass bottle valued at P181,723.76; 1x40 container of lamp pole pegged at P375,279.20; and one unit used Mercury Cougar XR7 model 1969, body only, amounting to P6,297.36.

Public viewing of merchandise is on September 14 and 19 at the Asian Terminal Inc-Container Yard (ATI-CY), South Harbour, Port Area, Manila. DMS
