Cuy named chairperson of Dangerous Drugs Board
January 5, 2018
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Department of Interior and Local Government Officer-in-charge Catalino Cuy as chairperson of the Dangerous Drugs Board.
Cuy was replaced by DILG Undersecretary Eduardo Ano as the OIC "to ensure the continuous and effective delivery of public service," said in a memorandum issued by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea on January 4.
Ano, a retired chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, will eventually assume the post of DILG secretary when the one-year ban for a former military officer to assume a civilian post expires in October.
Cuy, whose appointment paper was signed on January 4, replaced Dionisio Santiago, who was removed from the post last November.
Dionisio was dismissed as DDB chair for junkets abroad and for criticizing the construction of mega drug rehabilitation and treatment center at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija. Celerina Monte/DMS
