Daily COVID-19 cases fall below 1,000 for 3rd day

For the third straight day, the Department of Health (DOH) said Tuesday daily coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases fell below 1,000.
There were 886 cases, bringing the total to 471, 526. On Monday, daily cases reached 766, the lowest since July 14.
On Sunday, daily cases were reported at 883.
''The decrease in cases seen for today is due to the temporary operation of many laboratories on Sunday,'' the DOH said.
Davao City topped the areas with new cases with 61, followed by Pampanga 58, Bulacan and Quezon City 45 and Cavite 37.
Thirty-eight persons died from COVID-19, bringing total deaths to 9, 162.
There were 253 persons who got well, pushing total recoveries to 439, 016. DMS
