Daily COVID-19 cases reach 6,216

The Department of Health (DOH) said Friday daily coronavirus disease cases reached more than 6,000 for the second time this week.
There were 6, 216 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cases to 153,660. Active cases are 7,913 out of which 91.1 percent were mild.
Out of the new cases reported, majority came from the National Capital Region (NCR) with 3,848 followed by Laguna 302, Rizal 242, Cavite 240 and Bulacan 178.
These five areas have been placed under modified enhanced commnity quarantine from August 4 to August 18.
Sixteen died from the coronavirus disease, resulting in total deaths of 2,442.
There were 1,038 persons who overcame COVID-19, with total recoveries at 71, 405. DMS
