Dela Rosa says case vs Bulacan massacre suspect to continue despite negative in drug test
July 3, 2017
Philippine National Police Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said there will be no blood test for the suspect in the massacre of five family members in Bulacan after he tested negative for illegal drugs. "What’s the point? I know we can level up but his case is not drug use. His case is murder. Why would we spend money?...what’s the use?" Dela Rosa said. Carmelino Ibanes, 26, admitted he killed the Carlos family including Auring Dizon, 58, his mother-in-law; her daughter Estrella Dizon, 28; and Donnie, 11; Ella, 7 and Dexter Jr., 1, under the influence of drugs last June 27. Dela Rosa slammed critics saying the Bulacan massacre was a propaganda about drugs. "We are saying that according to our chemist (at the) crime lab, the detection of illegal drug in a system of a person is limited. Even if he admitted, after 48 hours, after the suspects took in drugs it can be gone in the system",he said. The cases against the two 2 suspects named by Ibanes were being built up while one of the suspects was released because there is lack of evidences. The police are still searching for the third person named by Ibanes, Dela Rosa said. (Alanna Ambi/DMS)
