Dela Rosa says no need to extend martial law in Mindanao after December
October 23, 2017
Philippine National Police Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said there is no need to extend martial law in Mindanao.
In a press conference Monday, Dela Rosa said martial law implementation until December is enough as rebuilding efforts will start to bring normalcy in the city of Marawi.
"Well the Congress grant (to implement martial law) until December of this year. I think that's enough," he said.
Dela Rosa said a recommendation for extension of martial law will happen if a new siege will take place.
Dela Rosa said the PNP's priority is rebuilding the Marawi Police Station to show people there is a symbol of authority. Ella Dionisio/DMS
