Central Visayas saw a three percent increase with the 8,529 cases in 2019 up to 8,807 in 2020.
Central Visayas, with 33, and Central Luzon, with 21, accounted for majority of deaths from dengue.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire warned of the possibility of the number of dengue cases rising in the coming weeks.
"We may have a higher number of dengue cases as the rainy season is already here," said Vergeire in a virtual press briefing on Monday. DMS
