DFA helping second group of Filipino tourists in Sapporo

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is assisting a second group of 40 Filipino tourists who were in Sapporo when the magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck Hokkaido on Thursday.
The second group reached out to the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo and said the members are all safe, the DFA said in a statement Friday.
This group and the other group of 26 tourists are being assisted in rebooking their flights back to the Philippines.
Ambassador to Japan Jose C. Laurel said the Chitose Airport is expected to reopen Friday while shinkansen train services were expected to resume.
Laurel said the Embassy stands ready to provide assistance to affected Filipinos if needed. DMS
