DND main building under lockdown from Wednesday to Friday

The main building of the Department of National Defense (DND) was locked down after one the staff of Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a public advisory issued on Wednesday, the DND said the lockdown will take effect from today to Friday.
"In accordance with prescribed biosecurity protocols, the Department of National Defense Proper will effect a lockdown beginning 12 noon today, 15 July 2020, in order to give way to the disinfection of the DND's Main Building and premises," the advisory said.
"Normal office operations will resume on Friday, 17 July 2020," it added.
The DND also conduct mandatory rapid testing for its employees on Monday.
"The Department of National Defense (DND), in coordination with the Veterans
Memorial Medical Center (VMMC), conducted mandatory rapid testing for its employees on July 13, 2020, in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City," the DND said.
"Aside from implementing proper health protocols in the workplace, the DND required mandatory rapid testing for its employees in light of the ongoing efforts against the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)," it added.
According to DND, a total of 294 of their employees underwent rapid testing, in addition to 83 tests facilitated earlier in the month.
"The department shall also facilitate additional testing for its employees based on the advice of attending medical physicians/health care professionals following the results of the rapid testing," DND said. Robina Asido/DMS
