The Department of Health (DOH) reports 2,218 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 226,440.
Majority of the new cases came from the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,163.
Active cases are 64, 620, of which 91.2 percent are mild, 6.4 percent asymptomatic, critical 1.4 percent and severe one percent.
The DOH says 27 persons died from COVID-19, putting total fatalities to 3, 623.
The DOH said 609 patients recovered from COVID-19, making total recoveries at 158,610.
Meanwhile, the DOH said case doubling time has improved to 10.08 days as compared to 1.55 days in March 15.
Moratility doubling time has gone up to 14.67 days as compared to 0.96 days in March 15.
"As we have said before, the longer doubling time we have, the slower the spread of the transmission is," said Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire in an online media forum.
The Reproduction Rate or r-naught (R0) of COVID-19 is at 0.977 as compared to 1.50 back in March 15.
"The goal with the reproduction rate is to have less than one person that could be infected by a positive case at a given time," said Vergeire.
Although the three dictators showed improvement, Vergeire said: "We have to be cautious in interpreting these different indicators. There are several factors that could affect these indicators." DMS
