DOH reports 2,426 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported 2,426 new cases of the coronavirus disease ( COVID-19), bringing total cases to 311, 694.
Active cases reached 52, 702 of which 86.4 percent are mild, the DOH added. Asymptomatic cases were nine percent, critical 3.2 percent and severe 1.4 percent.
The National Capital Region was the biggest source of active cases, with 887 followed by Cavite 201; Rizal, 147; Negros Occidental, 115 and Batangas, 99.
Fifty-eight persons died of COVID-19, raising total fatalities to 5,504, the DOH said,
The DOH said 585 persons overcame COVID-19 to increase total recoveries to 253, 488. DMS
